Distributed and continuous reinforcement

Steel fibers are distributed throughout the concrete matrix, while reinforcing bars provide continuous reinforcement at designed locations. Their structural roles are not automatically interchangeable.

Construction considerations

Fiber can simplify some placement operations and improve distributed crack control. Rebar remains essential where the structural design requires defined reinforcement areas and load paths.

Hybrid solutions

Some projects combine conventional reinforcement with steel fiber to address different performance objectives. The decision belongs to the qualified structural designer.

Compare verified performance

Evaluate design requirements, testing, constructability, cost, labor, schedule and local standards rather than choosing from a generic product comparison.
